Sleep apps for children—a critical view

Abstract Background During the last few years, technology support for various health-related areas is becoming increasingly common. Not only are nutrition apps or sports available, but regarding sleep also available. As prevalence of disturbances in infancy and childhood quite high, supportive strategies necessary to help families healthy. Thus, this study addresses topic babies children. Methods Sleep were searched using different strings. Age-oriented scored criteria which theoretically based (e.g., description, costs, downloads). Results We found 573 Apple App Store Google Play with search strings “sleep” “app” “baby” “children”. Of these, 15.4% not declared children babies. Content most was lullabies music songs. Sleep-related aspects as information education very rare. Conclusions There a new field help—with used by families. Because high concerning problems, market helping well used. However, did have declarations age other factors. Parents should be careful their offspring.
